There is a significant message behind the movie-even though life may not be special due to its vulnerability and short existence but it is very important for the person living it, and even though life may be intolerable at times but a simple opportunity or turn of events can allow one to appreciate the beauty of life. This is the lesson that Takeshi as Chiba, the Grim Reaper learned at the end of the movie through three seemingly separate events which turns out to be intricately linked. Even though the message may be touching but the process towards this grand idea is too dreary, boring and plain. Throughout the movie, Chiba kept interacting with his fury colleague though printed dialogues on the screen-they even saved energy moving their lips. If you are on the verge of giving up life and desperately needed any source of encouragement while having the strong will to endure the most of the first part of the movie-what an irony, or a No. 1 fan of Takeshi, do not, I repeat, do not even consider watching it free on the Internet!
